It's A Process....

Accomplishing your dreams is a process, not something that happens overnight. Often we get discouraged because we don't think we are making progress, and the next thing we know we have veered away from that goal. The key is to plan a course for how we want to achieve our goals. And each and every day, take a few steps closer towards our goal.

You've got to get to the stage in life where going for it is more important than winning or losing. Having once decided to achieve a certain task, achieve it at all costs of tedium and distaste. The gain in self-confidence of having accomplished a tiresome labor is immense.

"Somehow I can't believe that there are any heights that can't be scaled by a man who knows the secrets of making dreams come true. This special secret, it seems to me, can be summarized in four C s. They are curiosity, confidence, courage, and constancy, and the greatest of all is confidence. When you believe in a thing, believe in it all the way, implicitly and unquestionable." -- Walt Disney (Artist, Film Producer)

Success is not measured by what you accomplish, but by the opposition you have encountered, and the courage with which you have maintained the struggle against overwhelming odds. So many dreams are waiting to be realized - Maybe it's a business you've wanted to start, perhaps it's something as simple as growing a home garden, even still maybe it's a trip to another country you've always dreamed of visiting. Whatever it is you owe it to yourself to do what you have to make it a reality!

I'll readily admit that it's not always going to be an easy road to hoe. Anything worth doing in life rarely is. Pursuing your dream might require you doing without a few things (especially if the goal requires money to do it). It might require taking time away from other things.

However, rest assured that when you commit to your goal and achieve it, the doing without you had to go through is well worth it. I find that keeping my 'dream' in plain site allows me to be better focused. Keeping what we want fresh in our minds allows us to move quickly towards achieving it. Possibly even more importantly I make a clear mental picture that I can carry around with me.

What we've done in the past is of no consequence! Even if we could we can't take it back, so don't beat yourself up over it. Instead make a conscious effort to make changes. Keep a steady focus on your goals. Just make sure that you keep things into perspective as well. One of the easiest ways to keep things in focus is for us to remind ourselves exactly what it is that we're working so hard for. Right above my computer I have a note that reads, "Enjoy the day! It's what you're working so hard for!"...May you have a fantastic day!

Life affords no higher pleasure than that of surmounting difficulties, passing from one step of success to another, forming new wishes, goals and seeing them gratified.

Haste Makes Waste

There are no shortcut to any place worth going. The way to the top is neither swift or easy. Nothing worth while ever happens in a hurry, so be patient. Your success has less to do with speed and more to do with timing and direction. The key is doing the right thing at the right time.  You are always nearer than you think. The greater oppurtunity is where you are. Do not despise your own place and hour. The most important thing in our lives is what we are doing now. Know the real value of today. The regrets that most people experience in life comes from failing to act when having an oppurtunity. Be on the outlook for oppurtunities God is sending your way. Seize the momoments! The trouble with life in the fast lane is that you get to the other end too soon. Hastes makes waste; give time, time. Many people over estimate what they can do in a year and under estimate what they can do in a life time. There is simply more to life than increasing it's speed.

Refuse To Live a Targetless Life

The ability to set a goal is the master skill to success. Success is goals, all else is commentary. You cannot hit a target you cannot see, if you don't have one. One of the greatest mistakes and a waste of life is living without a clear purpose or goal. A life without clear goals is a life doomed to failure.  Any man who selects a goal in life which can be fully achieved has already defined his own limitation. So the clearer you are about your goal, the more rapidly you'll attract people and circumstances into your life to help make that goal a reality.  Most people have their eye on the wrong goal. Is more money, a higher position or more influence your goal? These are not goals but are the by-products of true goals. We should work to become, not acquire.  Measure wealth not by things you have, but by the things you have for which you would not take money. Happiness is not a reward - it's a consequence. Suffering is not a punishment - it's result.

Value

A well known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20 bill. In the room of 200, he asked, "Who would like this $20 bill?" Hands started going up. He said, "I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this." He proceeded to crumple the dollar bill up. He then asked, "Who still wants it?" Still the hands were up in the air. "Well," he replied, "What if I do this?" And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now all crumpled and dirty . "Now who still wants it?" Still the hands went into the air. "My friends, you have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20." Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that
