It's been said that the biggest enemy
of 'great' is 'good'. The biggest enemy most of us face is 'ourselves'. The
nagging voice says: be like him, you're not worthy; do what he does, follow
where others are going. When you're trying to be like someone else, the best
you can ever be is "second best". Why compare yourself with
others? No one in the entire world can do a better job of being you than you.
We all do it or have done it at some point in our lives; we compare ourselves
to others and gauge where we are based on what we observe them to be doing.
When you stop comparing yourself to others, you tend to produce more results in
your life, you are able to improve yourself, and get a better vision for your
life. The easiest thing to be in the world is YOU. The most difficult
thing to be is what other people want you to be. Don't let them put you in that
position. Until you make peace with who you are, you will never be content
with what you have, which means that if you don't have a plan for your own
life, you will be the part of someone else's.
Accomplishing your dreams is a process, not something that happens overnight. Often we get discouraged because we don't think we are making progress, and the next thing we know we have veered away from that goal. The key is to plan a course for how we want to achieve our goals. And each and every day, take a few steps closer towards our goal. You've got to get to the stage in life where going for it is more important than winning or losing. Having once decided to achieve a certain task, achieve it at all costs of tedium and distaste. The gain in self-confidence of having accomplished a tiresome labor is immense. "Somehow I can't believe that there are any heights that can't be scaled by a man who knows the secrets of making dreams come true. This special secret, it seems to me, can be summarized in four C s.
