Truth exists; only falsehood has to be invented. White lies leave black marks on your reputation. You can't stretch the truth without making your story look pretty thin, and when you stretch the truth, it snaps back at you.  Though honesty may not be popular, it's always right. The fact that nobody wants to believe what's true doesn't prevent it from being correct. Always tell the truth, and you never have to remember what you said. The truth is one thing for which there's no substitute. When you stretch the truth, it always snap back to hurt you. 

... Nobody cares how much you know, until they know how much you care. Serving others is never entirely unselfish, because the giver always receives. Before looking a way to get, look for a way to give. Selfishness is the greatest curse of the 'human race'.  Self-interest is a fire that consumes others and then itself. Almost all of our unhappiness is the result of selfishness. It is absolutely true that you can succeed best and quickest by helping others succeed. A self-centered life is totally empty, while an empty life allows room for God.  A good way to forget your troubles is to help others out of theirs. Look for ways to help others by praising them because any definition of a successful life must include serving others. 

Your future comes one hour at a time. Never be disgraced when you make progress, no matter how slow or small. Small steps are a big idea. Nobody makes the greater mistake than someone who did nothing because he could only do a little.  You are always nearer than you think. The greatest oppurtunity is where you are. Do not despise your own place and hour. The most important thing in our lives is what we are doing now. Know the real value of today.  The regrets that most people experience in life comes from failing to act when having an oppurtunity. Be on the the look out for the oppurtunities God is sending your way.  "The time is always right to do the right thing. Be driven by excellence. There is no future in the past. Stop looking at where you have been and start looking at where you can be. The past is always going to be the way it was. Stop trying to change it. Rosy thoughts about the future can't exist when your mind is full of the blues about the past.  Living in the past is a dull and lonely business, looking back strains the neck in muscles, causing you to bump into people not going your way. Your past cannot be changed, but you can change your tomorrow by actions today. Never let yesterday use up to much of today. Move on!

Broken promises cause the world's greatest accidents. You can't make wrong work. Honesty is the first chapter of the book of wisdom. Never chase a lie: if you leave it alone, it will run itself to death. Everything you add to the truth, you inevitably subtract from it.  A lie will add to your troubles, subtract from your energy, multiply your difficulties and divide your effectiveness. Never view anything positively that makes you break your word. Make your word your bond. 

There is something for you to start that is destined for you to finish. The purpose of life is to have a life of purpose. It is a poor disgraceful thing not to be able to reply, with some degree of certainty to simple questions; 'what will you be?' 'what will you do?'.  You're not truly free until you've been made captive by your mission in life. You can predict your future by the awareness you have of your unique purpose. Abandon yourself to destiny!

Ideas are like rabbits. You get a couple and learn how to handle them and pretty soon, you get a dozen. You'll get more out of every part of your life, if you stay incurably curious.  Get caught dreaming. It's never too late for you to start thinking more creatively. Unfortunately, dreams are the first casualty in life - people seems to give them up quicker than anything for reality. The important thing is to not stop questioning. Never loose a holy curiosity!

... Don't trust "LUCK!". Create your own luck by taking responsibility for what you want. Success is not based on luck, it's based on the application of proven laws. Successful people don't trust luck, they take responsibilities for what they want. They take initiative and don't fold their hands to wait.  One of the saddest commentaries on human beings is our craving to get something for nothing or to get the most for the least effort possible. In life, you will never reap what you have not sown, where you have not sown nor in the measure you have not sown.  The quality of life is always tied to your willingness to take responsibility for the events of your life. Your life becomes what you make it, either you succeed or fail. If it's to be, it's up to you. 

Like rust consumes iron, envy consumes itself. Envy drains the joy, satisfaction and purpose out of living. If allowed to grow, it breeds hatred and revenge. Revenge converts a little right into a big wrong. Watch out, it's an appetite that's never satisfied.  A proverb says; when an envious man hears another praised, he feels himself injured. Some people seems to know how to live everybody's lives but their own. Don't measure your success by what others have or haven't done. In other words, don't try to get even with your enemies and ahead of your friends.  Refrain from envy, or it will be the root of most of your unhappiness. Covetousness is the tribute mediocrity pays to achievers!

Start where you are. You can only start with what you have, not what you don't have. Oppurtunity is always where you are, never where you're not. To get anywhere, you must launch out for somewhere or you'll get nowhere.  Almost everything comes from almost nothing, so do what you can, with what you have, where you are. The only way to learn anything thoroughly is by starting at the bottom. To be successful do what you can.  Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not, but remember that what you now have was once among the things only hoped for. You cannot know what you can do until you try. The most important catalyst to reaching your dream is starting right where you are. 

... When God is number one, everything else add up. When God gives you a word, don't make a paragraph out of it. Our additions to what he says gets us in trouble. Many people believe in God, but not many believe God. One of the most incredible states in which we can live our lives is in a continual position of trusting 'Faith'.  The man who puts God first will find God with him right up to the last. God never made a promise that was too good to be true. Things impossible for man are made possible with God. When you leave God out, you'll find yourself without any invisible means of support. Saying impossible always put you on a losing side, because all great things has God at the centre of them. 

Every successful person in life is being helped by someone else. No one makes it alone. Have a greatful heart and be quick to acknowledge those who help you. The fence that shut others out, shut you in. There's no such thing as a 'self-made man'.  Everyone who has ever done a kind deed for us, or spoken one word of encouragement to us, has entered into the make up of our character and our thoughts, as well as our success. You don't always use all the brains you have but all that you can borrow.  So make yourself indispensable to somebody. If you blame others for your failures, do you credit others with your success? The man who believes in nothing but himself lives a very small world. Every great man is always being helped by somebody else.

Failures most successful strategy is "Procrastination". Now is the best time to be alive and productive. If you want to make an easy job seem difficult, just keep putting off doing it. A duty dodged is like a debt unpaid, it is only deferred and we must come back and settle the account at last.  Do not allow idleness to deceive you, for while you give him today, he steals tomorrow from you. Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging-on of an uncompleted task. "Start" is what will set you apart.  There are those of us who are always about to "Live". We're waiting until things change, until there's more time, until we are less tired, until we get a promotion until, until, until. It always seems that there is some major event that must occur in our lives before we begin living.  Do today what you want to postpone until tomorrow because one day, today is worth two tomorrow's. ... when you look back on your life, you'll regret the things you didn't do more than the ones you did. When facing a difficult task, act as though, it is impossible to fail. Go from looking at what you can see to believing what you can have. Don't undertake a plan unless it is distinctly important and nearly possible.  Impossible is a word found in the dictionary of fools because impossible is nothing. He who is afraid of doing too much always does too little. To achieve all that is possible, we must attempt the impossible. Your visions must be bigger than you. Learn to be comfortable with great dreams. It's worth giving it a shot.  "In life, there are a lot of ways to become a failure, but never taking a chance is most successful". 

One of the most pitiful aspects of society is the really large percentage of people who lead dismal, narrow darkened lives, crying out against what appears to be a cruel world which they believe have singled them out for a lifetime of trouble, misery and bad luck.  Any one who finds himself in such a prison of discontent should face the facts that he has built his prison with his own hands. And unless such a person takes responsibility to change things, his cell will continue to grow smaller, darker and more frightening!

Faith lifts! Everyone needs a "faith-lifts". The only thing that stands between a man and what he wants from life is often merely the will to try it and the faith to believe that it's possible.  Faith can rewrite your future. Faith says believing is seeing. Faith is like a toothbrush. You should have one and use it daily. Doubt is the great modern plague but faith can cure it. Faith sees the invisible but does not see the non-existent. Faith lifts!

Your words reflect what you believe about your future. What we say and who we say it to always make a big difference. Ignorance is always eager to speak. The best time to hold your tongue is when you feel you must say something. You don't feel guilt or hurt by anything you didn't say. When an argument flares up, the wise person quenches it with silence. Silence is the ultimate weapon of power; it is also one of the the arguments to dispute. Your words reflect what you believe about your future. Live your life as an exclamation, not an explanation. Many a great idea has been quenched by wrong words. Don't spend your life standing at the complaint counter. The fact is, the more you complain, the less you'll obtain. Don't jump into trouble with what you say. Shut your mouth! A thousand words will not live a lasting impression as one deed. People judge you by your actions, not your intentions. You may have a heart of gold, but so does a hard boiled egg. Shun idleness. It is a rust that attaches itself to the most brilliant metals. Ironically idleness is persistent. It keeps on and on, but soon enough it arrives at poverty.  A man of words and not only of deeds is like a flower bed full of weeds. Don't just dream of great accomplishments; stay awake and do them. Cultivate the action attraction! What you can do - you can do. Whatever works, work on that. Don't wish you could do things you can't do. Instead focus and build on what's already working. Only a few people really know how to live in the present. The problem is that we seldom think of what we have; instead, we think of what we lack.  People are always ignoring something they can do while trying to do something they can't. There are no shortcut to any place worth going. The way to the top is neither swift or easy. Nothing worth while ever happens in a hurry, so be patient. Your success has less to do with speed and more to do with timing and direction. The key is doing the right thing at the right time.  You are always nearer than you think. The greater oppurtunity is where you are. Do not despise your own place and hour. The most important thing in our lives is what we are doing now. Know the real value of today. The trouble with life in the fast lane is that you get to the other end too soon. Hastes makes waste; give time, time. Many people over estimate what they can do in a year and under estimate what they can do in a life time. There is simply more to life than increasing it's speed. 

.. I stood in the long queue waiting to be put in one of the boxes lined up but each time i was thrown in one box I was either too big or small or it just didn’t fit. Each box was labelled age, status, money, nationality, job, career, ethnicity, religion the list was endless… I shook my head from side to side. But each time I was thrown in one of the boxes my head will pop out they tried so hard to force me into one! But for some reason my head, hands and legs just could not fit, they got frustrated… I tried to explain to them that each box labelled has characteristics which I do not possess even if I am thrown in an age, status, or job box I will not act or behave the way society has conditioned us to… society pigeon holes all of us and we end up wearing a permanent mask and being a fake copy of who we truly are I shouted make a box and label it "Stephen", in that box there are no preconceived way as to my character … i can truly be me.. my true essence, n

Scars of our wounded past should be worn proudly!!! Like a badge a symbol of our life experiences…  It should remind us of the mistakes we have made, a pointer to lessons learnt, a deterrent from making wrong choices by helping us not to go round the same mountain over and over… with the scars starring right at us it teaches us to take full responsibility of the choices we make today and how they can affect us in our daily lives… When next we see our scars don’t frown at them instead welcome scars with its many lessons, remember they were once wounds that have now been healed.
